The new album "Love Sex Confusion" is out next week, and we couldn't be more excited. We think its our best yet, and can't wait to see how everyone feels about it...
We have over a solid month of shows lined up to support the release, so come out and rock with us. All our new friends on Facebook and Twitter have really helped us spread the word- its a very exciting time.

The Ruse
New Album, New Tour, New Friends
Kicking off 2010
As part of my effort to make The Ruse more web/blog active on this site I'm giving a little heads up for the start of 2010. We are actually pretty good at keeping facebook and twitter up to date so if you haven't added us there please do!
As this year comes to an end we are finishing up our fourth studio record. We have not decided on a title for the album or even solidified the track titles yet but the music, vocals and mixes are nearly done. We had some great tracking sessions at Steak House Studio and Jorge Vivo has been turning out some killer mixes. We will be putting the finishing touches on the album at the beginning of the year and then releasing it at the end of March or early April.
We are going to be doing a lot of shows in 2010. We will all gather back in LA after the Christmas holiday to play a private show on New Years Eve. Then on New Years Day we will be playing the Rose Bowl with Cheap Trick. We are playing from 10AM to 11:15. Should be a huge morning party so come join us if you aren't too hung over from NYE or haven't gone to sleep yet! NYD night we will be doing a free, small secret show in LA. Details will probably be given out that day.
In the Spring after releasing the new record we will be hitting the road. We will be playing shows all across the US in April/May and we hope you guys can come out to join us!! Tour dates should be announced in the first couple of months of 2010 but I can tell you that at this point it looks like the tour will start in Chicago! We will be touring with two great bands Luna Halo and Honor By August. Check them out if you don't know them yet. We can't wait to get out there and see you all again in the Spring!!

Long overdue journal update
We honestly might be the worst band in the world at keeping a journal. I'm sorry to anyone who likes to read this kind of thing that we havne't been on top of it. We have been busy traveling to shows, recording and rehearsing and haven't been very web-active recently. I'm sure I've said it before but I am going to make an effort to make 2010 the year of the blog for The Ruse.
In the meantime I want to thank our good friends Honor By August and Jonny HiFi for doing a run of shows with us last week. Always fun playing with you guys. We are looking forward to continuing our run with Honor By August on the East Coast in a couple of weeks.
We are playing The Rose Bowl pre-show for U2 this Sunday which should be a big party and will be back in the studio next week. We are just starting to work on an extensive Spring tour so check back with us in the beginning of the year for more details and to see if we are making to your city this time around. We had a blast last night at The House Of Blues Anaheim. Thanks to everyone at HOB for having us and helping us put together the show. And thank you to our new friends and the great guys in Joshua Tree for being the best tribute band we have seen...ever! Happy Friday and we hope everyone has a great weekend.
